[Cialug] sata raid

Thanks for tips regarding the sata raid controllers
and sata drives.  I ended up with a  3ware 8506
controller and a pair of WD caviar drives. 
I considered the 10k raptors. However, at half the
price, the caviars looked better. The Caviar's also
have a 5 yr warranty like the Raptors.

I also considered the software raid. It would be
suited to my needs, but I felt that recovery from a
drive failure would be faster and easier with a
hardware solution.

Again, thanks for the  tips, It should be interesting
to see how the install goes.
