[DM-MUG] Slide scanning

macworld magazine has been recommending the canoscan 9950F
as one of the best peripherals of its kind for a year now
on their peripherals round-up page.
it comes with slide mounts.
i bought it to do as you're proposing, but haven't started.

canon's supposed to have pretty good optics on their scanners.

you might want to get something better than the software that comes  
with.
i've downloaded silverfast software for the scanner - haven't even  
opened that yet   ) :

stuff takes time!
