[DM-MUG] Slide scanning

We have "several carousels" full of slides that we would like to  
transfer to the computer and of course make copies of for our  
family.  The salesman at Compu USA was very knowledgeable and showed  
us an Epson printer/scanner/copier that might work.   Went to the  
Apple store and that was a mistake, deer in the headlights look.  I  
thought I would ask you folks first and then perhaps google to see  
what's out there.

Any and all suggestions are most welcome.
