Dear DmMug Wizards, 7-10-'06

Rich Twohy, writing you from the wilds of Iowa City
(home) with some questions I've been saving, about my
17-in. flat screen iMac (-the original one, new in
2002) -- using Tiger 10.4.7.

On Tuesday and Wed. (July 11 + 12), I'll be at the
'Clive' Heartland Inn while attending the 2-day Apple
class 'Technology and Grant Writing'.
*Will any local wizards be attending?
Heartland's local phone is 226-0414.
And my cell-phone is 319-621-5600.

Coupla fast questions:

1) I keep my Dock on vertical left of screen,
supposed to be on automatic 'show' and 'hide' mode,
depending on where I push the mouse. MOST of THE
TIME, it just stays hidden, so I hafta go outta my way
to dredge it up.
Generally, it will come back to life after I
'Repair Permissions' via Disk Utility and re-start the
Mac. But then... often the Dock goes back to
'disobedient' mode after I've shut down + start up the
next day.
     Why.... oh, WHY-??
Or, better yet: HOW can my Dock be trained to
behave-??

2) I have an email addr. on Yahoo -- and also on
'dot-Mac'. They are
    <twohy2 at yahoo.com> and
    <twohy2 at mac.com>.
On each of these, I use the 'email' machinery that's
supplied with it (thus, relying for storage of my
messages on the good will of their cyberspace
gatekeepers. WHY-?? Mainly 'cause I don't know how
else to do it.
I would GREATLY prefer to use my own hard-drive
based 'EUDORA' email program. Is there any way to
configure either Yahoo or '.Mac' so I can process
incoming and outgoing Email through my own Eudora-??

Many thanks for your
wizard-like blessings-!!

-Rich Twohy
