[DM-MUG] burning cds

I'm trying to burn a file to CD that my daughter needs to bring to  
school.  (It's too large for a floppy.)  I've tried using Disk  
Utility, but when I pop it into our Windows machine there is a  
message saying disk is corrupted or not a format Windows can read.

Any suggestions?  Should I be using something besides Disk Utility,  
for instance?  It's an MS-Word file, by the way, with several pictures.
