Chrome Remote Desktop is a favorite of mine. Or just a reverse SSH tunnel....

LogMeIn, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco Webex have all announced various
upgrades to their free plans. Not sure if that's what you need. Apache
Guacamole is a way to provide secure remote access to systems without a VPN
although I've found it to be a bit troublesome.
