Dice Holdings has an immediate need for a Linux Administrator in our 
Urbandale office.  As a Linux Administrator you will manage systems and 
projects in the production technical environment to ensure maximum 
uptime, provide optimal performance, and cost effective operations.

In this position you will:

Manage, monitor, and maintain production systems in accordance with Dice 
standard procedures.  Activities include deploying new software 
releases, conducting system upgrades, patch evaluation and installation, 
and rapid resolution of system problems. Maintains data files and audits 
system configuration to ensure data integrity and security.

Planning, design, development, and budgeting for infrastructure projects.

Prepares activity and status reports for systems, processes, and 
projects as required.

Provide technical insight and support in the evaluation, selection, and 
implementation of all systems hardware and software to ensure the 
integrity of the system, and the adherence to industry and company 
standards, and the consistent application of technology.

Maintain proper documentation per company standards for all assigned 
systems and processes.

Ability to automate certain tasks via scripts or configuration tools.

Provide on-call support as needed (24x7 or as scheduled).

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related field, or 
equivalent work experience. RHCE, OCP, or similar designations, or 
equivalent work experience.

5+ years’ experience managing a Unix/Linux-based environment in a three 
tiered website environment.

Strong ability to configure, monitor and administer Linux systems

Experienced with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu Linux and high 
availability enterprise platforms.

Experienced with scripting and automation of reoccurring tasks

Build and maintain various monitoring platforms including Nagios

Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, etc

Management and administration of Apache, IIS, Oracle, mySQL, Weblogic, 
Tomcat, JRun, JBoss and Glassfish

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong organizational skills

The ability to work in a team atmosphere
