Did this to test:

nslookup
set type=srv
_ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.msl.local

It returned

_ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.msl.local  SRV service location:
          priority       = 0
          weight         = 100
          port           = 389
          svr hostname   = ames-server.msl.local
ames-server.msl.local   internet address = 10.0.11.1
