I'm pretty sure the platform-neutral version of the `ps` man page says something like:
	By default `ps` displays some set of process the system designer thought would be useful, often those attached to your controlling TTY. If you'd like to see more process simply add un-delimited lower-case letters to the first argument until the output stops growing.
