[Cialug] Ubuntu Edge

I've played with the Firefox OS on real hardware at a few different
conferences. The last time was a FISL, with hardware that is actually
getting ready to be deployed out into brazil. It seems pretty robust.

Tizen (tizen.org) is another similar "non android platform" that will
start getting traction in the future as it's coming from hardware
manufacturers directly. At linuxcon.jp this year they had a sizable
booth staffed with samsung employees.

The ubuntu edge device is ambitious. I don't have 600 bucks laying
around to invest in a project to wait for my device to arrive next
year. If I did, I'm still not sure I'd think that was a solid
investment as the carriers will try and drive the costs down. (think
unlocked phone pricing)

I hope it works though, as it'll help drive the market faster.

Mostly though I'm excited about Firefox OS.
