Another option that hasn't been discussed is the outlet store at
http://mcbia.com/

Burn an Ubuntu LiveCD, take it there, and ask to boot whatever system
you're interested in.  Once it comes up, check that all hardware is
recognized (particularly wifi).

Might not be much cheaper than an online deal, but it's local, fast
and you can test it.
