If your work's IT department is competent, they will have locked down
the BIOS to prevent booting from a CD-ROM or USB device as well.

I guess if the hard drive is easily removable, you might be able to
swap the internal hard drive in and out.

Seriously though, it's a computer provided to you by your employer to
use for work.  It wasn't provided to you for personal use.  I'd just
leave it be.
