This whole discussion/debate is a replay of employees at my work
freaking out when MS Office went to the "ribben". They complained
nonstop before giving it a try, saying "I don't want Vista"
(Read new MS Office upgrade). After a few months they got used to
it and many prefer the ribbon now.

I think it breaks down to this: "People hate change" even if it's
for the better (Let not debate what's better).

I didn't want to change my desktop either and prepared to move on
(Yep, with Linux that is an option), BUT I FIRST used unity until
I gained experience with it. I now think it's an improvement.

I agree the netbook unity (10.10) wasn't great and not done. Unity
now is much improved.

I still need to play with Gnome 3's shell before I can make any
comparisons; it's on the todo list.
