"netstat -atunp | grep LISTEN" will tell you what's listening now.

"chkconfig --list" will tell what's set to autostart... but may need to be installed manually on Ubuntu.

Or you can dig around in the init.d and rc.d directories, if you're really into symbolic links.

Subject: [Cialug] SSH after ubuntu install?

Is there any way to make sure SSH is installed and running after installing ubuntu from CD? Or Remote Desktop/VNC?  I've done remote installs before without realizing that even if these were installed and turned on on the live cd they won't be after the reboot into the installed OS.
