Get a tiny bit if buy-in from your manager, and EVERY time you have a
problem, solve it with Linux. Really. In a windows shop, there's
usually lots of room for this kind of thing:

Setup a Linux box with Nagios, SmokePing, Cacti, OpenNMS or similar to
monitor & trend your production windows & network gear
Setup a postfix/exim system with ClamAV, Amavis, SpamAssassin etc to
filter your exchange mail
Setup a Samba CLIENT on your windows network to virus scan file shares
Setup an OpenVPN server
Setup a Linux firewall in front of your office Wifi, add a captive
portal allowing guests limited access & printing
