My laptop which I was running Debian 4.0 (etch) on for some reason prompted me to install a bunch of updates and when all was said and done the laptop is now running Debian 5.0 (lenny).  Any idea why this would happen without my requesting that I update to the newer version.

This is not the current stable version that I was trying to stick with.
