I know it's a ways off, but I wanted to remind folks that the next
meeting is college night. This is the night when college students can
come to our meeting and give short (5-10min) presentations on Linux/Open
Source projects.

This gives the students a chance to practice presentation skills, brag
about what they know, and be generally involved in the community.

This also gives those of us who are no longer students a chance to look
at people that might be employable down the road.

So, if you are a student and are interested in presenting, please drop
me an email so that I can add you to the schedule. If you are not a
student, but known a student or professor that might be interested feel
free to forward this email around. It would particularly nice if this
could spread around DMACC, IA State, U of I, UNI and Kirkwood as that's
where we've received interest in the past.

After the presentations, we will likely discuss techniques and tips for
landing jobs in the "Real World". If you're looking (whether or not
you're a student), feel free to bring a resume and we'll all offer
advice.

Lastly, if you're in a job placement industry and want to give a short
talk, please drop me a line.

Thanks,
