Base price $92k, for that much I can buy 2 boxters (I know it will
beat the boxter 0-60, but ).

The EV1 was 1/2 that and was basically an all electric insight (MSRP
$21,530) and the insight was canceled by honda because they weren't
selling enough (only managed to move approx 650 in the us market in
2005) of them once they produced 4-seater versions of their hybrid.
If people would pay that much for the EV1 someone would be making
them. The reason the domestic car companies like trucks and SUV's is
because they make more money selling them, if they could make more money
selling something else they would do so.
I would love to drive an electric vehicle, but they don't fit with the
budget and driving habits of most US drivers (definitely not mine at 75
miles/day in a sub $15K vehicle).
