We don't have any problems with this.  We are using Sender Policy Framework
(at least Dave tells me he added the record) and we went through some
shenanigans at AOL to claim that we are a legitimate business and would not
be spamming AOL members.  You also have to be sure to have reverse DNS set
up on your mail server.  It still seems like so many people do not do this.
