[Cialug] Eye candy only partially working

I have a MacBook set up to dual-boot OS X and Debian Etch. I've
installed the "Really Slick Screensavers" (http://www.reallyslick.com/)
under both operating systems. Those screensavers use OpenGL and push
the hardware more than is really justified for something as useless as
a screensaver, but they are pretty and i like them as a test of
graphics performance. This is the first machine i've owned that is
actually powerful enough to run the Hyperspace screensaver, but there
is a slight problem. It works great under OS X. But under Debian, it
seems only half of it displays. The screensaver is supposed to consist
of a 3D star field and some tubes and long stringy forms. Under Debian
the stars display just fine, but the more complicated forms do not.

Any idea what i should look at first for figuring out a problem like
this? I have little experience with making 3D acceleration work under
Linux. The machine has an Intel graphics chip and so thankfully uses
open source drivers.
