I wouldn't count on gaming / entertainment driven purchase slowing down. 
  Also don't forget that 99% of video cards in consumers hands right now 
won't run Vista. The next year is going to be gangbusters for video card 
makers.

Not sure what you're talking about... my "server" pc at home is running 
the nVidia drivers, and often has several months of uptime - before I 
reboot it due to an upgrade, or moving it.
