Please read the fine print on godaddy. When you register a
domain with them you are renting it- they retain ownership.
Their web interface attempts to sell you everything you
don't want or need.

I have used directnic.com for years- $15/yr for registration
DNS service is $5/yr. Easy interface and good service.
