That's true - most of these are from a certain time period too, 4-5 years
ago if memory serves).  There is a lot of stories about industrial espionage
that led to this issue.

There are a few people on the web that will do replacements for about
$20-$50 but it probably isn't worth it.

I've had two boards that did this.  One was a dual processor athalon board -
that one made me sad.

Check for bulging or leaking capacitors.  I have a boat load of motherboards
which died just outside their warranty due to the crap capacitors being used
by Gigabyte, BioStar, MSI. 
Once they start bulging, it is just a matter of time before the motherboard
will crap out.
