We have had a Kodak DX 6340 for years and have been very impressed by
it's quality and the long battery life. It is only a 3.1Mp, but the
images look better than images from friend's cameras with much higher
resolution (fuji 5mp to be specific). I blame it on the optics
(Schneider-Kreuznach). I also love it's manual mode where you can
control the "shutter", "aperture", and "iso" they are all fictitious in
that it is a digital, but it lets you actually control the camera. If
you go with a kodak go for the higher models of the line, higher Mp
isn't the only thing to look for, in fact it is the last thing I worry
about, anything over 3.1 is fine for normal use, (unless you often print
posters from your photos).
