If you're looking to install qmail with spamassassin (and other nice  
features), I've found either qmailrocks or qmailtoaster to be quite  
nice!  Both install from source.  Qmailtoaster comes with some really  
nice utilities and qmailrocks a great resource for non-rpm based  
distros.
