[Cialug] Open source for Crystal Report???

Most of the the reporting I've done under Linux has been either 
generating PDF's or text output from a PHP web application.

If you search on freshmeat.net for "report" there appear to be a lot of 
options for report writers. I don't know that any of them are going to 
have all of the features of Crystal Reports.

You can also use a combination of Linux and Windows applications. For 
instance we use the MyODBC connector to allow Windows applications 
written in Visual FoxPro to talk to MySQL databases on Linux servers - 
which are also being used by PHP web applications.

You can go the other way too - for instance PHP on a Linux server can 
connect to a MS-SQL server using the freeTDS libriaries.

Another option might be to look into Borland's Kylix - a development 
environment similar to VB, but it uses a Pascal-like language. I'll let 
others on this list more experienced in Kylix give you more info on that.
