Sounds like there's a DoS problem with the Linux 2.6.x kernel (where x < 
8) if you're using iptables with logging enabled.

In other semi-related news, the new Mandrake 10.1 is officially out 
today. Has some nice features, like support for Centrino wireless 
chipset (I'm guessing it uses the ndis wrapper), and some auto-switching 
function for wireless / wired networks.
