[DM-MUG] Relatively inexpensive laptop

my cousin is looking for one and thinking either Windows or Mac == 
I'm going to suggest a MacBook = she does not need lots of bells and 
whistles == and to buy either refurbished at Apple or another 
reputable site then get applecare == any other thoughts or 
suggestions?
