Interesting. I believe I know why my installer wasn't deleted. I was booted into a Snow Leopard partition when I downloaded and ran it to install Lion clean on a new partition. (I was wiping out my GM install) Apparently when it bridges partitions like that it doesn't properly remove the installer. Good thing, I'd be annoyed having to download it again.
