[DM-MUG] iWeb hope?

Only MobileMe hosting (via your iDisk) will be going away. iWeb can publish your website either to your iDisk or to some other web-hosted storage. You'll need to come up with some new hosting solution (there are many) and point iWeb to publish there, and your domain registration to point to the new location.
In essence, you can continue to use iWeb as long as you like. You just need a new place to house your site.
Peace

Anything that needs to be kept from prying eyes should be encrypted. My data that qualifies for this is encrypted by the software I use it with (1Password and iBank). Anything I need encrypted outside of that I use a program that encrypts/decrypts on the fly using a shared private key for anyone I need to share the data with. (Granted, this is an advanced use) A FileVault DMG, especially under Lion, is a good and pretty simple route to take as well.

>>> As for Google Docs/Apps being more secure, umm, sorry they are not. I participated in some penetration testing of Google Docs and we were into sensitive files in under 10 minutes. If you're in the cloud, there is NO service that offers a complete end-to-end secure system that is foolproof. Most aren't even script-kiddie proof. This is why you need to manage the encryption on your own. The extra setup at the beginning is well worth the benefits of instant and seamless syncing, public sharing, and URL shortening you can get out of it.

>>> I used drop.io, box.net, CloudApp and Dropbox. DropBox is my service of choice for real syncing and management, but for URL shortening, image , document and file sharing, I use CloudApp. It's really better suited for that, particularly with the Raindrops you can integrate.
>>>
>>> Using an encrypted DMG with DropBox has been covered in detail by the usual Mac pundits like TUAW, Macworld and several podcasters. You should be able to find more than one comprehensive step-by-step to get going. If not, post back here and if I have some time I will write one up.
>>>
>>> Hmm... I should give my affiliate link to signup for Dropbox so each one of you who does adds another 250MB of space to my account. ;) I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I would never sell myself out like that. :)
