Regarding Netflix, I used it fine on 1.5MB DSL. The higher speed you have
the higher quality the video is. Even at 1.5 it's is entirely acceptable.

I did notice on 1.5Mbit that occasionally if a computer downloaded updates
then netflix would momentarily pause and change its quality settings to a
lower quality mode.
