[DM-MUG] alias and symbolic links

To go a touch deeper, a symlink is more reliable, even on a Mac. If you use any CLI programs, or apps that use them, the symlink will be honored whereas the alias has no such guarantee. This becomes more of an important concept as you move into the server space.
