[DM-MUG] Missing files

I have noticed many of my files are disappearing. Some of my folders  
are labeled such things like 'files for archive", "backup", "restore"  
etc. and now the folders are empty. Other folders have files missing.  
Most however, are still okay. The missing files seem to be a year old  
or older so I don't know when they were deleted. This seems to have  
happened on both my machines, dual G5 powermac and G4 with sata card.  
Both machine are running 10.4.11 and both get a lot of hard drive use  
since I work with video and they get filled to capacity until I trash  
the projects I'm working on. I never trashed the folders that are  
missing. Is this a common problem? You can run a quick check by  
sorting the finder list in size order and look for zero or 8k folders.

Thinking back, I think I might have seen some 'recovered files' in  
the trash which got emptied before I looked at them. If this was a  
true recovery, why is it in the trash? This is making me a bit  
nervous since I have over 100 gigs of pictures on these machine. I  
have a backup of my pictures on the G4 but I don't know what is safe  
now.
