[DM-MUG] what is this keyboard shortcut?

According to Wikipedia, the character is Unicode 2325. That is a hex code, and you won't find it on your keyboard (at least, I couldn't). But there is a way to use it if you're willing to jump through a couple of hoops.

Assuming you're using 10.6...

Open System Preferences -> Text & Languages and go to the Input Sources Tab. Check "Keyboard & Character Viewer." A new menu should appear to the left of your clock.
Pull down this new menu and select "Show Character Viewer." A window will appear.
In this new window, there is a View pull-down. Open this and select "Code Tables."
Click to the Unicode tab if it is not already selected.
In the upper portion of the window, scroll down to 00002300 "Miscellaneous Technical" and select it.
In the lower portion of the window, scroll down to the 2320 line.
The alt character is in column 5.
Click Insert
