In iMovie I think you can go to the help menu and there is an entry you can
click to watch some Video Tutorials. They cover the basics pretty well if I
remember correctly.
I'm frequently amazed at the number of high quality video tutorials are
available on youtube. After you take the basic tutorials if you have a
specific topic you'd like to learn more about you could try searching there.
