[DM-MUG] Time Machine Defaults

Hello All,
I recently upgraded my work computer to 10.5 ( I know I know, is this  
2008), anyway when time machine starts backing up it slows my g4 down  
quite a bit. Aside from getting a new computer is there anyway to  
change the defaults of time machine so it only backs up when I'm not  
working? Thanks, also any one know of any good deals on a mac pro?  
Used to be able to get last years top of the line mac for almost half  
price at places like small dog or even the apple refurb store. Now  
they want 75 or 80% of retail for them. Thanks Regards C
