[DM-MUG] external enclosure wierd

I have a problem with an external enclosure. The enclosure (A)  
contained a WD drive (A) which failed so I pulled it but have not  
replaced it yet. I also have a LaCie external HD(B) with a WD drive  
(B).  Yesterday A pin broke on the power adapter for B. I pulled the  
drive B and put it into the enclosure A. When I turn the enclosure A  
on with drive B in it the enclosure power light is red. If I put drive  
A back in and connect it the enclosure light on A is green. When I put  
drive B in enclosure A and connect the power plug but not the drive  
cable the light is green until I plug the drive cable in and then it  
turns red. I have a nasty feeling that drive B is dead.

Comments would be helpful.
