Sonnet is a respected brand in anything related to firewire. Often,
their cards perform better than the internal firewire bus.
Firewire 800 is backwards compatible with Firewire 400, although you
need either a 9 pin to 6 pin (or four pin) cable or an adapter like
what you found on Amazon. I would strongly recommend getting it.
Unless Haddock or the Apple Store have it in stock, your best bet is
to get it from Amazon.
