[DM-MUG] Q ref MacBook Air and terminal message on screen

My Air was running 10.5.7 - NOT SL-- I was using 4.1.1 for pre SL to 
do the disk before putting SL on it...I did it yesterday with my 
MacBookPro

can I just turn off the Air =-= how do I do that = I tried 
reboot/exit/quit and nothing worked = I'm in terminal of course...not 
by choice
