Jon, your session Tuesday was very good and I learned alot and am
testing my use of it now. To start I was doing something very simple
= finding all documents on the desktop and labelling them green. I
tested just doing aliases and that worked, so am now doing documents.

I did Find Finder Items..[document kind] then Get Folder Contents,
the folder being the Desktop, and then Label Finder Items [green] -
it worked just fine but it did seem to take a long time. All three
steps worked fine and were fairly quick but the last one did take
awhile. It also didn't label some theings but maybe they aren't
documents [.webloc and .fp7 filemaker clone] otherwise it worked as
expected.

I am now going to create a new dated folder on desktop and then move
labeled items into it -- and probably schedule this so at the end of
each day or several, all docs on desktop go there and then my job is
the next AM to come in and file them where they go, which will take
my own decision making and not Automator.

So, why so slow on labelling?
