Jon's presentation on Automator has inspired me to dive deeper to seek
time savings solutions for digital image processing. Jon's knowledge
on the Mac is simply amazing. I joined his Faceback fan club. Here
is a link to his new website: <http://www.dmevolve.com/> Previously
I'd used Linux to learn the basic Unix commands while working with Sun
Solaris back in the 90's. Ray's presentation has likewise inspired me
to re-investigate the Unix command line in Mac OS X for time savings
short cuts to systems management.

I'm currently encoding the video of last nights presentations. It was
1.5 hours duration. I imported the HD footage from my camera to Final
Cut and selected the following (see below) encode settings to keep the
final file under 500 mb (hopefully). I plan to try and upload the
video to Vimeo.com, and to my iDisk as a file download. If anyone has
ideas for any aspect of video documenting our meetings and the
subsequent work-flow please submit them. We do need a better plan on
setting up the camera, and to try and use the lapel microphone for the
speaker in order to obtain higher quality audio. Last nights
recording was more or less winged on a last minute request. I'd like
to present a more professional video of our meetings.
