[DM-MUG] DSStore?

I'm trying to click and drag a folder [several, really] to an 
external drive and when I do so it stops

"The operatoin cannot be completed because an item with  the name 
".DS_Store" already exists."

What can I do to get things copied over = 5-6 folders have done fine 
but the rest are not
