[DM-MUG] where in town can I get an FW400 to 800 cable?? today??

Actually, I offered a solution to that off list. I was just posting  
the portion that would be useful for others.

For those that would rather purchase from the Apple Store, Best Buy,  
Staples, etc... go right ahead. I'm just suggesting a solution that is  
much less expensive. When I worked at CompUSA (over ten years ago), we  
would get cost on the printer cables... A $30 cable was $3. It's just  
that simple. Cables pay the bills. I certainly understand supporting  
small local businesses, but also see a reasonable balance that needs  
to be made. When there is a 900% markup on an item, it's time to look  
elsewhere.
