Thanks Bryan. I don't make iTunes purchases intentionally, to keep a tight leash for the times when I want to spend when I shouldn't. Sounds like a nice idea...!

@AB: iMix is for sharing with other iTunes store users. Letting people  
build up "Essentials" lists or themed lists of songs that people can  
then choose to buy, etc. So iTunes needs to have a version in their  
store of the songs you want in the list (since they provide a list of  
previews).

I haven't been using that feature, but it sounds unfortunate that  
they're making it harder for people to use.

Have you tried looking the song up in ITMS, then renaming a copy of  
the song (or changing it's other meta data) to match that of the store?
