[DM-MUG] import from HI-8 video camera

You might check out the Elgato EyeTV Hybrid or EyeTV 250. According to  
Elgato's website, they support composite input. Even if they don't,  
though, you should be able to route the composite signal from the  
camera through a VCR to the thing via coax, etc. Elgato's video  
capture software consistently receives positive reviews as well. Plus,  
at the end of the day, you'll be able to watch HDTV on your Mac. Costs  
range up from $150.

Elgato also makes a device simply for capturing analog video, the  
Video Capture. It's only $99.
