[DM-MUG] import from HI-8 video camera

Ray,

The device is a Sony PD170 Video Camera with analog inputs to firewire transcode.  The camera was about 4k new, not sure what its going for now.  Essentially, you plug the analog output RCA jacks from the HI-8 camera into the Sony PD170.  Then run the firewire cable to a Mac or PC with a video capture program.  I use Final Cut Pro.  The Sony PD170 transcodes the HI-8 footage to digital using its high quality internal codec.  The video is captured to Final Cut Pro where it can be edited or converted to whatever format you are interested in.  Please give me a call if you are interested, at 515.867.4376.
