[DM-MUG] Email Return Receipt / Mail Read

Read receipts are not worth paying any service for, as there is no
guarantee that the user at the other end will return it and this
functionality should be built in to every mail client. That said, I
don't use Mail on my Mac so I don't know for sure, but there should be
a way to turn on the option to request a read receipt.

Just remember, it is only a request for a receipt -- there is no
guarantee the user at the other end will send that back to you.
