in Safari in the settings/preferences there is the option to open 
safe files after downloading or not [I have it unchecked, so it won't 
open them automatically] - is this what is being talked about?  There 
is also a fraudulent site warning you can check and other such

If there is a suggestion as to which prefs are best to set for 
security etc. that'd help = Don't know if that has much to do with 
the issue presented...
