Ray, what he's saying is:
1. He's using a machine that has the same card you do (Original Airport)
2. He's able to use WPA
I too have an original Airport card in our 17" iMac G4 (snowball/
makeup mirror) and it is happily running on a WPA wireless network. It
is also using 10.4.x (what ever the latest update was).
There are several types of WPA though iirc. Is it possible you just
aren't trying the right one?
