[DM-MUG] Where would I look for information ref. missing application

I first posted this on 2/20 when I discovered it happened back then - 
I restored it from an older version on 2/20...I was using the iMac 
again today and tried to find Safari -- Safari is AGAIN gone == it 
was on the iMac [according to TimeMachine] as of 2/26's backup but as 
of midnight 2/27, it's disappeared and not on the comptuer again.

Again, any thoughts?  Suggestions as to what is going on and why 
Safari is disappearing?


The iMac in office is mainly/only used by my paralegal and as far as
I know there were no problems yesterday yet when I went to use it
this afternoon I noticed Safari was missing, no longer in
Applications and also not in Trash. Then I checked TimeMachine to
see if I could recover it there == went back in time and found it in
the 12:23am Thursday version....but then there are no TM backups
until 3:23pm and it's missing after that.

I want to check whatever logs or other internal information may be
present to try to figure out what happened - (1) why no TM backup
from 1223a-323p Thursday [no alteration of schedule has been done as
far as I know], (2) where'd Safari go and why?

Any suggestions as to what I'm looking for? I assume it's a log of
some type and yet not sure what it is and what to look for.
